Welcome

Hello, I am Sarah, a warm and caring counsellor passionate about supporting children and young people who are experiencing psychological distress.

I am trained in a humanistic and person-centred approach to counselling. I will create a warm, safe, nurturing and accepting space in which children and young people can explore and process difficult emotions or difficult life experiences.

I have a Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).

What can I help with?

Life can be tough, especially for children or young people who may be navigating new experiences or who are trying to understand who they are and establish their own identity. I can support young people in processing and making sense of difficult experiences, such as parent separation, challenges with peer relationships, grief or trauma. I can support children and young people who are experiencing psychological distress, which could be in the form of anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood, depression, or intrusive thoughts, I work with young people to enable them to understand their emotions and how to regulate these. I work relationally with children to empower them to blossom into their unique self and to thrive in life.

I support and work with children and young people aged between 5 and 25 years.

How can I help?

I offer a safe, warm and accepting space in which everyone is welcome and can be themselves. I am child-led so the wants and needs of the children and young people I work with are always at the centre of everything I do. I can work creatively using play and art. Play is a child's primary form of communication and can help children to process difficult experiences in a safe space.

I support children and young people to develop greater self-awareness and self-acceptance and to understand themselves better which can lead to an increased sense of calm.

Through therapy, I can support children and young people to develop greater resilience, healthier relationships and help support them on their journey towards a more fulfilling and joyful life.

Particular interests

I have a particular passion for supporting children and young people with ASC and/or ADHD who are experiencing mental health challenges.

Life can be particularly tough for neurodivergent children and young people. I can support in the development of self-awareness and self-acceptance, empowering each child and young person I work with to be the unique individual they deserve to be.
